India, Uzbekistan Hold Foreign Office Talks
On 13th May 2026, India and Uzbekistan held the 17th round of Foreign Office Consultations in New Delhi to strengthen bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors.
- Discussions covered trade, investment, tourism, energy, technology, innovation, education, culture, and consular cooperation.
- Both sides exchanged views on regional and international developments of mutual interest.
- India and Uzbekistan have shared a Strategic Partnership since 2011.
- India was among the first countries to recognise Uzbekistan’s independence after the dissolution of the Soviet Union.
- Formal diplomatic ties between the two nations were established in Tashkent in 1992.
