India-EU Trade and Technology Council
On 25th April, 2022, during the visit of the President of the European Commission, India and the European Union signed a deal to launch a joint Trade and Technology Council, a strategic mechanism to address the challenges of ensuring trusted technology and security in the wake of rapid geopolitical changes.
- The deal comes at a time when the EU and India have differences over the Russian attack on Ukraine. But both countries agreed on other issues which were delaying the launch of the trade mechanism for years.
