United Nations (UN) Charter

On 26th June 2026, the United Nations (UN) Charter marked the 81st anniversary of its signing, commemorating the adoption of the founding treaty that established the United Nations after World War II.

  • The Charter is the founding treaty of the United Nations and consists of 111 Articles divided into 19 Chapters.
  • Its four principal objectives are maintaining international peace and security, promoting friendly relations among nations, achieving international cooperation, and serving as a centre for harmonising the actions of nations.
