RBI Payment Vision 2025
On 17th June, 2022, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) released “Payments Vision 2025” with an objective to provide users with safe, secure, fast, convenient, accessible and affordable e-payment options.
- Core Theme: E-Payments for Everyone, Everywhere, Everytime (4 Es)
- Vision: Provide every user with Safe, Secure, Fast, Convenient, Accessible, and Affordable e-payment options (6 Attributes)
- Five Themes: Integrity, inclusion, innovation, institutionalisation, and internationalisation.
Goalposts of Payments Vision 2025 (Goals to Achieve)
- Bringing down the volume of cheque-based payments to less than 0.25% of the total retail payments.
- Tripling the number of digital transactions.
