e-Courts Mission Mode Project Phase III
- In December 2025, the government informed Parliament that AI tools are being piloted under the eCourts Project Phase-III to improve judicial efficiency, but no formal policy or guidelines have been framed yet.
Infrastructure and Technological Integration
- Phase III of the e-Courts Project focuses on creating a "paperless" and "digital-first" judicial ecosystem.
- It introduces Artificial Intelligence for language translation and the automated drafting of case-related summaries.
- Cloud-based storage and virtual courtrooms are expanded to ensure uninterrupted judicial proceedings across India.
- The project integrates the Inter-operable Criminal Justice System to facilitate seamless data exchange between courts and police.
