Labour Force Participation Rate (LFPR) is the percentage of the working-age population (aged 15 years and above) that is either employed or unemployed, but willing and looking for employment.

Estimates of LFPR in Usual Status (2022-23)

  • Total LFPR: 57.9%
  • LFPR in Rural Areas: 60.8%
  • LFPR in Urban Areas: 50.4%
  • LFPR amongst Males: 78.5%
  • LFPR amongst Females: 37%

Estimates of LFPR in Current Weekly Status (2022-23)

  • Total LFPR: 54.6%
  • LFPR in Rural Areas: 56.7%
  • LFPR in Urban Areas: 49.4%
  • LFPR amongst Males: 77.4%
  • LFPR amongst Females: 31.6%
