Amaravati Declared Sole Capital of Andhra Pradesh

  • On 6th April 2026, President Droupadi Murmu gave assent to the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation (Amendment) Act, 2026.
  • It amends the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014, providing legal backing to Amaravati as the sole capital of the state.
