SAMADHAN Doctrine and LWE

Left Wing Extremism (LWE) has been one of India’s most persistent internal security challenges. To address it, the government adopted the SAMADHAN doctrine in 2017, a comprehensive strategy combining security, intelligence, and development measures to counter Maoist insurgency.

  • S - Smart Leadership: Professional, accountable command structure in anti-LWE operations.
  • A - Aggressive Strategy: Proactive, intelligence-based operations against Maoist cadres.
  • M - Motivation & Training: Capacity building of security forces (CoBRA units, state police).
