SVAMITVA Scheme: Empowering Rural India through Technology
On 26th January 2026, the Ministry of Panchayati Raj’s tableau at the 77th Republic Day Parade showcased the SVAMITVA Scheme, highlighting the journey of self-reliance and dignity through property ownership for rural citizens.
- The tableau was based on the theme “SVAMITVA Scheme: Aatmanirbhar Panchayat se Samriddh evam Aatmanirbhar Bharat”.
SVAMITVA (Survey of Villages and Mapping with Improvised Technology in Village Areas) Scheme
- Launched in April 2020, the scheme provides a ‘Record of Rights’ to village household owners through legal property cards or title deeds, based on drone-based mapping of land parcels.
