Draft National Medical Devices Policy 2022
On 10th March, 2022, the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers released an Approach Paper for the Draft National Policy for the Medical Devices, 2022.
- The draft national policy further aims to foster orderly growth of the sector for the coming years.
- This policy, while addressing the core objectives of accessibility, affordability, safety, and quality, focuses on self-sustainability and innovation.

- Obsolete Policy: India’s medical devices sector has so far been regulated as per provisions under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act of 1940, and a specific policy on medical devices has been a long standing demand from the industry.
