VB-G RAM G Act Comes into Force: Expanded Employment Guarantee & Higher Rural Wages
The Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-G RAM G) ACT , 2025, came into force on July 1, 2026.
- The Act expands rural employment, raises wage rates, strengthens Gram Panchayat-led implementation and shifts India’s flagship rural employment programme towards integrated livelihood and asset creation.
What Changes from 1 July, 2026?
Major Reforms
- 125 days of guaranteed wage employment for eligible rural households.
- A new national programme wage floor of Rs. 300 per day.
- Average notified wages increase to Rs. 327.4 per day, with some of the largest revisions occurring in historically lower-wage states.
- Existing e-KYC job cards remain valid ....
