Sealed Cover Jurisprudence
On 20th March, 2023, the Supreme Court said it would not accept a “confidential” submission from the Centre on the disbursal of arrears to retired defence personnel under the One Rank One Pension (OROP) scheme.
- A Bench led by Chief Justice of India (CJI) turned down a sealed cover note presented by Attorney General (AG) for India.
- The SC said that the sealed cover jurisprudence must stop as it is “fundamentally contrary to the basic process of fair justice.
