Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya
On 25th September, 2024, Prime Minister paid tributes to the leader of Bhartiya Jana Sangh, Deendayal Upadhyaya, recalling his dedication and service to the country.
- The PM highlighted the late politician’s concept of “Antyodaya” which means to ensure the rise and development of the last person in society.
- Born in Mathura, UP in 1916, Deendayal Upadhyay is an Indian politician.
- He was one of the most important leaders of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, the forerunner of the present day Bharatiya Janata Party.
- He joined Sanatan Dharma College, Kanpur, where he also became part of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
