Srikalahasteeswara Temple

Recently, the Srikalahasteeswara Temple authorities submitted a Rs. 114.06 crore proposal to the Centre under the Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Heritage Augmentation Drive (PRASHAD) Scheme for improving pilgrim facilities, tourist amenities and supporting infrastructure at the temple.

  • The Srikalahasteeswara Temple, located in Srikalahasti, Tirupati district, Andhra Pradesh, is one of India’s ancient Shaivite temples.
  • It is situated on the banks of the Swarnamukhi River, adjoining a hill that forms part of the temple’s natural enclosure.
  • The temple is popularly known as “Dakshina Kailasam”, meaning the Kailash of the South, reflecting its importance in Shaivite tradition.
