Port Blair Renamed as Sri Vijaya Puram
On 13th September, 2024, the Central Government renamed the capital of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Port Blair, as "Sri Vijaya Puram”.
- It is important to note that Port Blair was named after Captain Archibald Blair, a British colonial navy officer of the East India Company.
Why was it Renamed as Sri Vijaya Puram?
