India-U.K. Review Defence Cooperation with Focus on Industry and R&D
On 21st August 2026, India and the U.K. held the 25th India-U.K. Defence Consultative Group (DCG) meeting in New Delhi to review bilateral defence cooperation, with a focus on defence industry and research and development.
What was Discussed?
- Defence Industry: Both sides reviewed ongoing cooperation in the defence industrial sector.
- Research & Development: Cooperation in R&D was discussed under the India-U.K. Vision 2035 and the 10-year Defence Industrial Road Map.
- Military Cooperation: India and the U.K. agreed to expand exchanges through joint exercises, training and capacity-building initiatives.
- Maritime Security: Both sides reviewed maritime security cooperation in the Indo-Pacific.
