Draft India Data Accessibility & Use Policy 2022
On 21st February, 2022, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) on released a policy proposal titled “Draft India Data Accessibility & Use Policy, 2022”.
Aim
- To radically transform India’s ability to harness public sector data.
Need
- India’s ambition of becoming $5 trillion digital economy depends on its ability to harness the value of data, the draft document said. With that in mind, the India Data Accessibility and Use Policy aims to enhance access, quality and use of data, in line with the current and emerging technology needs of the decade.
