Global Liveability Index 2025

The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) released the Global Liveability Index 2025 in June 2025.

The index evaluates 173 cities globally based on 30 indicators across five categories:

  1. stability,
  2. healthcare,
  3. education,
  4. infrastructure, and
  5. culture & environment.

Key Findings

Most Liveable Cities

  • Copenhagen (Capital of Denmark), ranked as the most liveable city in the world with a score of 98, receiving perfect scores (100) in stability, education, and infrastructure.
  • Vienna (Austria) and Zurich (Switzerland) jointly ranked 2nd with scores of 97.1; Vienna dropped due to reduced stability amid terror threats.
