Introduction / Concept

Electoral bonds are promissory-note-like financial instruments that can be bought by companies and individuals from SBI and donated to a political party. On February 15, 2024, a 5-member Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court declared this scheme unconstitutional.

Background / Current Context
