They assist elected representatives with their knowledge, experience, and understanding of public affairs. Lord Curzon (and later Sardar Patel) referred to it as the "Steel Frame of India." |

The current structure of Indian Civil Services was initiated by Lord Cornwallis. After independence, Sardar Patel emphasized the retention of All India Services. Currently, civil services play a vital role in achieving the goal of Viksit Bharat @2047. |
