Good Governance is a form of administration that is transparent, accountable, participatory, and based on the rule of law. According to the World Bank (1992), it is "the manner in which power is exercised in the management of a country's economic and social resources for development." This concept is not new to India—the ancient tradition of Kautilya's Arthashastra and 'Rajdharma' also emphasized welfare-oriented governance. |
