DHRUV64: First Indigenous 64-bit Microprocessor

On 15th December 2025, India marked a major milestone in its semiconductor journey with the launch of DHRUV64, the country’s first indigenously designed 1.0 GHz, 64-bit dual-core microprocessor.

  • The processor has been developed by the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) under the Microprocessor Development Programme, strengthening India’s push for technological self-reliance.

  • It supports both strategic and commercial applications, reducing dependence on imported processors.
