Hansa-3 (NG) Trainer Aircraft & SARAS Mk-2 Programme
On 29th November 2025, the production version of India’s first indigenous pilot trainer aircraft, Hansa-3 (NG), was launched at CSIR-National Aerospace Laboratories, Bengaluru.
- Hansa-3 (NG) is India’s first all-composite, two-seater trainer aircraft, designed to meet the growing demand for Private Pilot Licence (PPL) and Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) training.
- The aircraft’s manufacturing has been transferred to industry partner Pioneer Clean Amps, which is setting up a ₹150-crore facility at Kuppam, Andhra Pradesh, with a capacity to produce up to 100 aircraft annually.
- To support this expansion, the Minister reviewed progress on the indigenous 19-seater Light Transport Aircraft, SARAS Mk‑2, being developed by CSIR-NAL ....
