India’s First Digital Grievance System for Gig Workers

  • On 1st May 2026, the Government of Karnataka launched India’s first digital grievance redressal system for gig workers, marking a significant step towards protecting platform-based workers.
  • The initiative has been developed by the Karnataka Platform-based Gig Workers Board in collaboration with the Department of e-Governance, Karnataka.
  • The system enables gig workers to formally register complaints related to wages, incentives, payments, working conditions, and disputes with digital platforms.
