Whitley Award 2026
Indian conservationists Parveen Shaikh and Barkha Subba have been honoured at the 2026 Whitley Awards for their work in protecting endangered species and restoring fragile ecosystems in India.
Parveen Shaikh: Saving the Indian Skimmer
- Focusing on riverine habitats like the Ganga basin, Parveen protects the rare Indian Skimmer from sand mining and habitat loss.
