World Press Freedom Index
- On 3rd May, 2022, the 20th edition of the World Press Freedom Index was published by Reporters Without Borders (RSF).
- 3rd May is celebrated every year as World Press Freedom Day.
- India ranked 150th among the 180 countries, eight places below its last ranking of 142.
- The index is being published every year since 2002.
- Each country or territory’s score is evaluated using five contextual indicators: political context, legal framework, economic context, sociocultural context and safety.
