Indian Navy Inducts ‘Sanshodhak’

On 30th March 2026, the Indian Navy received Sanshodhak, the fourth and final Survey Vessel (Large) built under the SVL project by Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd.

    • Fourth and final ship of the Survey Vessel (Large) programme.
    • Earlier vessels: Sandhayak, Nirdeshak, Ikshak (commissioned 2024-2025).
    • Contract signed in October 2018.

    • Designed by the Navy’s Warship Design Bureau.
    • Built indigenously at GRSE, Kolkata.

    • Hydrographic surveys in coastal and deep waters.
