National Startup Day 2022

To boost India's growing startup ecosystem, the government has declared January 16 as National Startup Day.

It was on this day in 2016 that the Government of India launched the Startup India initiative that has catalysed the startup ecosystem.

Significance

  • The startups play a significant role in bringing new opportunities and horizons for startup ecosystems in India.
  • They can play a key role in several semi-urban and rural areas by launching new projects that will boost the economy of that area by providing employment.
  • Technology has played a vital role in strengthening the innovation, entrepreneurship, and startup ecosystem of our nation.
