Bharatiya Antariksh Station (BAS)

Bharatiya Antariksh Station (BAS) is India’s planned indigenous space station programme, approved as part of the expanded Gaganyaan follow-on roadmap. The Government has targeted launch of the first BAS module by 2028 and an operational BAS by 2035, aligned with India’s human spaceflight capability-building and sustained space operations goals.

  • A space station is a crew-capable orbital platform designed for long-duration operations and microgravity research, supported by continuous power, life support, thermal control, navigation/orbit control, and communications.
