Digital Twins for Infrastructure
A Digital Twin is a dynamic, virtual representation of a physical object, building, or even an entire city that updates in real-time using data from the physical counterpart. It creates a "living" digital model that mirrors the life cycle of an infrastructure project, from design and construction to operation and maintenance.
How It Works
- Data Acquisition: Sensors (IoT), drones, and LiDAR scanners collect precise physical data such as temperature, vibrations, traffic flow, or structural stress from the infrastructure.
- Modelling: This data is integrated into a 3D model using Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
- Real-time Synchronization: A high-speed data ....
