Drone-as-a-Service (DaaS) is a business model where enterprises or government bodies hire drone services on a subscription or per-use basis instead of purchasing and maintaining the hardware themselves. It democratizes access to aerial technology by providing "Airborne Intelligence" and "Logistics-on-demand," allowing users to focus on data outcomes rather than flight operations.
How It Works
- Mission Planning: The service provider defines flight paths using Ground Control Station (GCS) software based on the user's requirements (e.g., crop monitoring or land survey).
- Autonomous Flight: Drones equipped with GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) execute pre-programmed missions, often flying Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLoS).
