Open RAN
Open RAN (Radio Access Network) is a movement in wireless telecommunications to disaggregate hardware and software, allowing different parts of a mobile network to be built by different vendors.
Key Concept
- Unlike traditional networks where one company provides all equipment, Open RAN uses standardized, "open" interfaces to ensure that equipment from Vendor A can talk to equipment from Vendor B.
