It involves the "right-site, right-time, and right-quantity" approach to applying farm inputs like water, fertilizers, and pesticides.
How Precision Agriculture Works
- Data Collection (Sensing): Ground-based sensors (IoT), drones (UAVs), and satellites (GIS) collect real-time data on soil moisture, nutrient levels, and crop health.
- Analysis and Mapping: Information is processed using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to create ‘Prescription Maps’ that identify which specific parts of a field require more or less attention.
