Revival of Kashmiri Dogra Architecture
On 21st October, 2023, Srinagar Smart City Limited and the Kashmir chapter of Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) partnered to preserve the unique elements of Kashmiri architecture, focusing on those introduced by Dogra Hindu kings from 1846 to 1947.
- Dogra architecture is a term used to describe the architectural style associated with the buildings and structures constructed during the rule of the Dogra Hindu kings who governed Jammu and Kashmir from 1846 to 1947.
Examples of Dogra Architecture
- Mubark Mandi: A hub of Dogra culture until 1947, with a jharokha style of balcony.
