DRPSC Report on Demands for Grants of MSME
On 11th March 2026, the Department-Related Parliamentary Standing Committee (DRPSC) on Industry presented its Report on the Demands for Grants (2026-27) of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) in Parliament.
Key Observations & Recommendations
Budget Allocations and Expenditure Concerns
- The Committee observed that the Budget Estimate for 2026–27 stands at Rs.24,566.27 crore.
- However, Rs.9,000 crore has been allocated under the Guaranteed Emergency Credit Line even though there has been no expenditure in the last two financial years.
- It recommended redeploying the funds to priority MSME schemes, along with better expenditure planning and increased focus on capital investment.
