Shyama Prasad Mukherji Rurban Mission Celebrates 4th Anniversary
- On 21st February, 2020, the 4th anniversary of the launch of Shyama Prasad Mukherji Rurban Mission (SPMRM) was observed.
- SPMRM was launched by the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD) in 2016 with the vision to deliver catalytic interventions to rural areas on the threshold of growth.
- Mission’s Objectives: Bridging the rural-urban divide-viz: economic, technological and those related to facilities and services.
- There are 2 categories of clusters: Non-Tribal and Tribal.
- The Mission has two fund streams:
- Convergence through various Central sector schemes, centrally sponsored schemes, State sector/ sponsored schemes/ programmes, CSR funds, and
- Critical Gap Funds upto Rs. 30 crore per cluster for Non-tribal clusters, ....
