India’s First e-Waste Clinic
Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh will have the first e-waste clinic of the country. The facility would ensure scientific handling and disposal of electronic waste generate from households and commercial establishments.
Key Features
- An MoU to this effect was signed between the Bhopal municipal corporation and Central Pollution Control Board on 28th September.
- The project has been conceived as per the Solid Waste Management Policy, 2016.
- The project would be taken up as a pilot project in Bhopal for three months and depending on its success would subsequently be replicated across India.
- Presently there are no e-waste collection centres in the state capital.
