SVAMITVA Scheme Launched

Prime Minister recently launched the physical distribution of property cards under the ‘SVAMITVA’ (ownership) scheme.

  • The launch will enable around one lakh property holders to download their property cards through an SMS link sent on their mobile phones.
  • This would be followed by the physical distribution of property cards by respective state governments.

  • Survey of Villages and Mapping with Improvised Technology in Village Areas (SVAMITVA), a Central Sector scheme, is a new initiative of the Ministry of Panchayati Raj.
  • It is for surveying the land parcels in rural inhabited areas using Drone technology.
