Ongole Cattle Breed
- On20th May, a compendium on Ongole cattle breed was released at the Swarna Bharat Trust in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh.
- It traces the history of the animal from 1885 to 2016 by providing information from various sources on Ongole cattle.
- Ongole cattle are indigenous to the Andhra region in the Prakasam District.
- The breed is known for hardiness, disease resistance and capacity to thrive on scanty resources.
- It has a great similarity with the Gaolao breed of Madhya Pradesh and also has a resemblance to the Bhagnari type of cattle in the north of India.
- They also participate in traditional bull fights in Andhra Pradesh ....
