Falling Sex Ratios at Birth
In what raises serious concerns about India’s gender imbalance, data collated by the office of the Registrar General of India indicate a downward trend in sex ratio at birth. Even more worrying is a dramatic drop among southern states – barring Kerala – between 2007 and 2016.
