Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maan-dhan (PM-SYM) Yojana

  • On 5th March, 2019, the Prime Minister launched the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maan-dhan (PM-SYM) Yojana for unorganized sector at Vastral in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
  • The National pension scheme announced in the interim budget in February, 2019 comes under the purview of Ministry of Labour and Employment.

Objectives

  • To provide regular pension to those labourers who are associated with unorganized sectors as they suffer from income insecurity post-retirement.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The unorganized workers mostly engaged as home based workers, street vendors, mid-day meal, agricultural, handloom, leather workers, audio- visual workers and similar other occupations whose monthly income is Rs 15,000/ per month ....
