Medical Termination of Pregnancy (Amendment) Bill, 2020

On 16th March, the Rajya Sabha passed the Medical Termination of Pregnancy (Amendment) Bill, 2020 that increases the time period within which an abortion may be carried out by certain ‘special categories ’ of women.

  • The Bill was passed in the Lok Sabha in March 2020.
  • It amends the Medical Termination of Pregnancy Act, 1971.

Key Provisions of the Bill
