Fed to Fail? The crisis of Children’s Diets in Early Life
On 21st September, 2021, United Nations Children's Fund(UNICEF) released its new report titled “Fed to Fail? The crisis of children’s diets in early life”.
- For the first time, UNICEF’s flagship report examines the latest data and evidence on the status, trends and inequities in the diets of young children aged 6–23 months, and the barriers to nutritious, safe and age-appropriate diets.
Major Findings
- Rising poverty, inequality, conflict, climate-related disasters, and health emergencies such as the COVID-19 pandemic, are contributing to an ongoing nutrition crisis among the world’s youngest that has shown little sign of improvement in the last ten years.
