Double Jeopardy
Recently, a total of 10 cases have been registered against a Union Minister and Rajya Sabha member - based on complaints given by workers of a political party regarding the ‘slap’ remark against their leader who is chief minister of a state.
- As per the Indian law, a person cannot be arrested or have to stand trial for the same offence as it would amount to double jeopardy.
