National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (Amendment) Bill 2021
On 11th August, the Parliament passed the National Commission for Homoeopathy (Amendment) Bill, 202.
It seeks to amend the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine Act, 2020.
Key Features
- It seeks to repeal the Indian Medicine Central Council Act, 1970 and help make available the Indian system of medicine professionals across the country.
- The 1970 Act set up the Central Council of Indian Medicine to regulate the education and practice of the Indian Medicine system which includes Ayurveda, Yoga, and Naturopathy.
- The 2020 Act replaced the Council with a National Commission for regulating education and practice of the Indian medicine ....
