Humans in Space Policy
The Department of Space has put up for public consultation, the draft "Humans in Space Policy for India -- 2021" and guidelines and procedures for its implementation.
About the Policy
- Scope: The rules apply to operations now proposed under the Indian human space programme (IHSP) as well as those that will be established and implemented in the future in conjunction with IHSP.
- Goal: It aims to demonstrate human spaceflight to LEO (low-earth orbit) in the medium term, as well as build the groundwork for long-term exploration that will permit presence in LEO and beyond.
