The World Health Organization (WHO) recently issued new treatment guidelines for children who acquired Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome (MIS-C) after contracting Covid-19 infection.
About Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in Children
- MIS-C is a disorder in which inflammation affects several organs of the body. The patient develops heart difficulties, and the degree of these problems may influence the treatment plan.
- It is a potentially fatal illness in which different bodily components, such as the heart, lungs, kidneys, brain, skin, eyes, or gastrointestinal organs, become inflamed.
- It commonly occurs 2-6 weeks after a Covid-19 infection in children and teenagers.
