Recently, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) chairman has mentioned the launch of an “SSLV-D1 Micro SAT in April 2022”.
About SSLV
- The SSLV (Small Satellite Launch Vehicle) is designed to meet the growing market for small satellite launches into Earth's low orbits, which has grown in recent years to meet the demands of developing governments, universities, and private businesses.
- It is the lightest vehicle in the world, weighing only 110 tonnes. It will only take 72 hours to integrate, as opposed to the 70 days it now takes for a launch vehicle.
