Making India the Food Basket of the World
- The growth rate of India's agriculture sector is estimated to be 3.5% in the year 2022-23.
- Gross Value Added (GVA) in agriculture and allied activities is targeted to increase by 4% for the year 2022-23.
- According to WTO's Achievement Trade Statistics Review (2022), the share of India's agricultural exports and imports in world agricultural trade in the year 2021 was 2.4% and 1.7% respectively. India was included in the top 10 ranking of global agricultural exports.
- Agriculture and allied exports have increased by 20.79% in the year 2021-22 as compared to the year 2020-21.
