NAKSHA Programme
On 18th February 2025, the Union Government launched a new initiative—‘NAtional geospatial Knowledge-based land Survey of urban HAbitations’ (NAKSHA) in Raisen (Madhya Pradesh).
What is NAKSHA?
It is a city survey initiative under the existing Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme (DILRMP).
Objectives
- To create and update land records through urban land survey.
- To ensure accurate and reliable documentation of land ownership.
- To provide digital land records to urban citizens.
Nodal Ministry
- Department of Land Resources (DoLR), under the Ministry of Rural Development.
Coverage
- Launched as a pilot across 152 urban local bodies in 26 states.
